What is Help Me find My Pet?

Each year thousands of pets are separated from their families. Each year, thousands are found by good people who attempt to find their owners. More often then not, these pets will never find their way back home. Why not? Most people are not informed or prepared to deal with a lost pet. They will typically keep an animal for less than a day before dropping it off at the nearest shelter.

I.D. tattooing and micro-chipping has helped significantly. Pet I.D. tags are also helpful but many people are hesitant to approach a strange animal.

Helpmefindmypet.com was conceived as a way to take a proactive approach to locating and returning lost pets. Imagine a scenario in which hundreds, perhaps thousands of local pet owners were alerted the moment you lost your pet.

This is our goal.

How it works

In the event that a member’s pet is lost, helpmefindMYPET immediately emails a poster to all members, shelter groups, veterinary clinics, trainers, pet supply retailers, and grooming shops within a 50 mile radius of where the pet was last seen, Nationwide. Members are encouraged to make 5 copies of the poster to post in public areas. 

Any report of a lost pet sighting or related information is immediately emailed and/or phoned to the member by the helpmefindMYPET emergency call center. When the pet is recovered helpmefindMYPET is contacted via the emergency hotline or internet and an urgent message is placed in the member’s mailbox and/or the member is called directly by helpmefindMYPET. Arrangements are then made to reunite the pet and the family.
